What Is the Respect Life Ministry?

We are a group of concerned parishioners who actively promote the sacredness of human life from conception to natural death. Our activities focus on changing people’s attitudes to prevent abortion, euthanasia, capital punishment, and stem cell abuse.

What We Do

The Respect Life Ministry’s mission is to help the members of the parish understand and live out the teachings of the Church regarding such life issues as abortion, embryonic stem cell research, in vitro fertilization, human cloning, eugenics, euthanasia, assisted suicide, and medical ethics.

The ministry accomplishes its mission through bulletin articles, informational displays and brochures, sponsored talks, presentations, and other activities.

What Can I Do to Help?

You can join us! Participate in the Respect Life Ministry. Attend meetings and take part in pro-life activities. Meetings are held monthly in the Parish Center. Just call the center (347-6108, ext. 210) to learn when the next one is scheduled.

You can support restrictions on abortion such as parental involvement laws and bans on partial birth abortion. And you can tell our congressmen, congresswomen and senators how you feel about pro-life and so-called “pro-choice” issues. Write to them. Email them. Phone them. And vote! Encourage others to vote pro-life and support pro-life issues.

You can pray daily for an end to abortion, for women tempted to have abortions, for doctors and nurses, legislators, clergy, and for those who work in the pro-life movement.

You can support pregnant women in crisis and encourage them to choose motherhood or adoption.

You can offer compassion and forgiveness for mothers who have experienced abortions.

You can support Project Rachel and Rachel’s Vineyard, two programs offering a psychological and spiritual journey towards healing after abortion.

You can also pray for us and for all those who strive to promote the sanctity of human life in both the living and the unborn.
